Happy 1st Birthday to our beautiful baby girl!
I don't want a lot for Christmas. There's just one thing I need. I don't care about the presents underneath the Christmas tree.
I don't need to hang my stocking there upon the fireplace; Santa Claus won't make me happy with a toy on Christmas day.
I just want you for my own, more than you could ever know. Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is you….Christmas 2011 came early to our house with the arrival of Addisen Katherine.
Born a year ago today at 4:40 PM, weighing in at 7 lbs 13 ounces and 19 inches long. This beautiful buddle of joy had us wrapped around her finger immediately.
It is so fun to reflect over the past 12 months and see the little girl that developed:
12. Addisen, at first, loved to sleep and eat. 19 hours of sleep a DAY the first couple months were normal. You do the math and that left 5 hours of eatin time!
11. In March, Addisen discovered the ability of sitting. A whole new world emerged when she could do this on her own (which was the only thing she had to do on her own; with a little ahhhhh, Big Brother Kaleb would bring anything to her side!
10. Addisen loves loves loves tub time. She loves to splash, loves to stand up and fall on her butt. Tub time spilled over into swimming lessons in May. Of course, there was ALWAYS a smile when the pool is in sight.
9. In May, Addisen was baptized into God’s family. Her first big bash was celebrated on May 6th, 2012 with Uncle Andy, and Auntie Jenny as her godparents.
8. The middle of May brought forth solids. Once flavor was introduced she has never gone back! We haven’t found a food she doesn’t like; her favorite-spaghetti! Sometimes we think she assumes food is going to be absorbed through the skin! (Tub time occurs every night, it is so much easier)
7. Addisen loves being outside, especially down at Kiesler’s Campground, or as Kaleb would say “THE LAKE,” she loved to lay out on the blanket and play with toys and attempt to grab at the grass.
6. In June, Addisen discovered the world of mobility. Crawling all over the place brought so many new experiences (one of which includes the concept of SHARING, as now big brothers toys are so much fun to play with).
5. Car rides have never been a good experience for Addisen. Having big brother close, or far never seemed to matter. Having toys or mirrors, didn’t help either. Mom in the backseat=happy girl!
4. Snuggle time with Mom and Dad, are always the best. The rubbing of the eyes, the head down on your shoulder/chest, and her butt stickin straight up in the air!
3. In November, Addisen discovered walking on her own. Big Brother likes to help sometimes, but sometimes he goes a little faster than her little feet will allow. She gets all excited as she gets close to her destination and than….falls! It is so darn cute.
2. November also brought her first tooth, which was quickly followed by her second, and third is not far behind now! Process of getting teeth is not a favorite. Some sleepless night and lots more snuggle time.
1. Addisen’s all time favorite thing in the whole world is being around people, watching them and taking everything in! Oh and we cannot forget….she loves cake and has been dying to try some on her very own without the assistance of Mom and Dad.
On December 8th she gets to spend the day doing her favorite thing…celebrating with family and eating cake, all by herself.
Thank you Santa for makin all our wishes come true…
